The method involves rotatably coupling a nozzle body (18) with a body (4) of an injection valve (2) around a longitudinal axis (X). The valve body is aligned in a preset reference position, and the nozzle body is rotated relative to the valve body. Boundaries of an edge of an injection opening (34) of the nozzle body are detected from a detection position that is preset relative to the reference position. The nozzle body is rotated and aligned relative to the valve body depending on the boundaries such that the nozzle body has a preset target position relative to the reference position. An independent claim is also included for a device for aligning a nozzle body relative to a body of an injection valve comprising a rotating device for rotating the nozzle body relative to the body of the injection valve.
