PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit an information provider to provide information by a simple operation and also to timely distribute only information necessary for the user of a portable telephone in a method for distributing information provided from an information provider terminal to the portable telephone capable of receiving information based on character from an external part and displaying it on a screen. SOLUTION: An information distribution center takes the place of information distribution from the information providing terminal to the portable telephone. In the center, data inputted by the user are stored as taste data being user history information in response to advertisement information distributed to the portable telephone in the past and response is made to a new advertisement distribution request from the information provider (S51). A user expected to take interest in the new advertisement is made to be a latent customer based on the taste data (S56) and the new advertisement is distributed without waiting an actual request from the latent customer (S58).
