AUTOMATIC GAIN CONTROLLER FOR DIGITALLY CONTROLLING THE CONTROL VOLTAGE OF THE AUTOMATIC GAIN CONTROLLER AND CONTROLLING METHOD

An AGC(Automatic Gain Controller) capable of digitally controlling a control voltage of the AGC and a control method therefor are provided to control the control voltage without being dependent on resistors and capacitors by embodying a circuit for controlling the control voltage in a digital circuit type. A voltage control gain amplifying unit(210) amplifies an input signal in response to a control voltage, and outputs the amplified signal. A level detecting unit(220) detects peak and bottom levels of output of the voltage control gain amplifying unit(210). An ADC(Analog to Digital Converter)(230) converts the detected peak and bottom levels into digital signals. A peak detecting unit(240) detects a digital peak of the output of the ADC(230) in response to difference between the digital peak level and the digital bottom level. A voltage control unit(250) compares the digital peak with a reference voltage, and controls the control voltage.
