PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both high speed AF with contrast control and highly accurate AF with color temperature sensor. SOLUTION: In a focus detecting device including a first sensor 111 for outputting a signal for detecting a focus by phase difference detection and a second sensor 110 having a plurality of pixels mutually different in spectral sensitivity, accumulation start timings of the first sensor 111 and the second sensor 110 are different, the first sensor 111 controls an accumulation time and a reading gain based on a difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of an accumulation signal, and the accumulation of the second sensor 110 ends at timing when the first sensor 111 ends to accumulate.
