PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod soon informing strike to a user, and to provide a production method of the rod. SOLUTION: A fishing rod having on the peripheral surface thereof a guide element for guiding a fishing line, wherein a vibration conducting material is extended on the peripheral surface thereof, at least from the part disposed with the guide element to the part to be grasped with the hand, is provided, and the production method of the rod comprises a rod substrate forming step in which a rod substrate is formed by winding on a long length mandrel a composite material sheet impregnated with a resin, a vibration conducting material fixing step in which a long form vibration conducting material is fixed on the peripheral surface of the rod substrate along the longitudinal direction of the rod substrate, a molding film covering step in which the rod material and the vibration conducting material are covered with a molding film, a heating and baking step in which, with the molding film covering, the rod substrate material is formed to be a rod body of the fishing rod, and the form of the rod body is set and the vibration conducting material is adhered on the rod body simultaneously by heating and baking treatment, and a mandrel removing/molding film releasing step in which the mandrel is pulled off and the molding film is released after heating and baking.
