A downlink port (22) of a bridge (20) connecting a processor unit to a peripheral device is a virtual channel provided between the processor unit and the peripheral device. The downlink port (22) receives an access from the peripheral device via one of downlink channels used by the peripheral device for accessing a memory of the processor unit. A relay unit (24) relays the access to uplink channels which are a plurality of virtual channels supported by the processor unit and for each of which a memory band usable for accessing the memory is allocated. Here, an uplink channel corresponding to a downlink channel used by the peripheral device is allocated in accordance with the access from the peripheral device by referencing a table containing downlink channel identifiers correlated to uplink channel identifiers.
