<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet stacking device capable of stacking and storing sheets in order on a tray member elevating and lowering vertically and taking out large number of sheets stacked on the tray without causing the collapse of outward form of piled-up sheets. <P>SOLUTION: This sheet stacking device is provided with the tray means on which sheets from a delivery port are stacked, a tray elevating means for lifting and lowering the tray means vertically below the delivery port, a sheet side aligning means arranged above the tray means to regulate a side fringe of the sheet to be carried out of the delivery port in the direction crossing the direction of sheet conveyance orthogonally, and a control means for controlling the tray elevating means for lowering the tray means below the delivery port to take the sheet out of the tray means to the outside. The sheet side aligning means can move freely between an aligning position for engaging it with the side fringe of the sheet on the tray means and an evacuation position for evacuating it from the side fringe of the sheet. When the tray means is lowered by the control means, the sheet side aligning means moves to the evacuation position for evacuating it from the side fringe of the sheet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
