An antireflection film contains a transparent substrate having formed thereon an antireflection layer, the antireflection layer contains a first layer formed on the transparent substrate, a second layer formed on the first layer, and a third layer formed on the second layer, and the first layer and the second layer contain an oxide of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of titanium and zirconium and satisfying the specific expression, whereby such an antireflection film is provided that has excellent adhesiveness between the layers, excellent physical and chemical durability, and favorable antireflection capability.
