Provided is an on-vehicle display device which uses a flat panel display on which the display content can be switched from one to another. Upon switching of the display content, a user can easily recognize the information. The on-vehicle display device includes: a flat panel display (1) for displaying vehicle information; and control means (4) for controlling the switching of the display mode of the flat panel display (1). The display mode includes: at least a meter display mode which displays an analog display portion showing a needle portion and an index portion to indicate the vehicle information together with a digital display portion for showing a numeric to indicate the vehicle information; and other display mode different from the vehicle information display mode. When the flat panel display is switched from the meter display mode to the other display mode, the control means (4) maintains the digital display portion at the same position as the meter display mode.
