The invention relates to a system and method for controlling a vehicle in various drive modes, including on-road and off-road. To better determine the appropriate mode, the on/off status of various systems (cruise control, camera, hill descent,...) is checked. Depending on their status, the probability of each possible drive modes (snow, grass, sand, mud, rock crawl, motorway,...) is adapted. These single probabilities are combined and the mode with the highest probability is automatically selected or presented to the driver. |
