<p>The device for production of toothed rack for a rack and pinion steering in motor vehicles by tumbling extrusion pressing, comprises a toothed rack blank (3) lying between two die parts (1, 2), in which one of the parts has negative toothed system (4). One of the die parts is movable in a tumbling movement so that the negative toothed system is pressed into the rack blank and the rack blank is deformed. The negative tooth system is arranged at the non-tumbling die part and the die parts adjoin at the back of the toothed rack. The device for production of toothed rack for a rack and pinion steering in motor vehicles by tumbling extrusion pressing, comprises a toothed rack blank (3) lying between two die parts (1, 2), in which one of the parts has negative toothed system (4). One of the die parts is movable in a tumbling movement so that the negative toothed system is pressed into the rack blank and the rack blank is deformed. The negative tooth system is arranged at the non-tumbling die part and the die parts adjoin at the back of the toothed rack. The tumbling swivel axis of the die parts runs perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis (5) of the toothed rack blank. The die parts have two linear contact surfaces (7, 8) facing toward the back of the toothed rack blank. The contact surfaces exert force to the back of the toothed rack blank and include an angle to each other and the angle between the two contact surfaces is not more than 2[deg].
