The invention relates to a method and to a system for managing a locking in a building (L 2). In the method, a remote connection to a data network (4) is established between a computer-based communication device (5) in a building ( 1, 2) and a remote monitoring center (3), a message is received with the communication device (5) from the remote monitoring center (3) using the remote connection (4), the message containing a control command of the lock mechanism (6, 7) connected to the communication device (5), a control signal is sent with the communication device (5) to the electrically controllable actuator (6) belonging to the lock mechanism in response to the received control command of the lock mechanism, and the lock mechanism is displaced with the actuator (6) into a position releasing the locking in response to the aforementioned control signal received by the actuator (6) from the communication device (5). |
