Setting to the time-shortening state is determined using a high-probability pattern type, and information relating to whether the time-shortening state is being set in special pattern determination performed with the ball entry into the second start pocket as an opportunity. When the time-shortening state is being set in the special pattern determination, the time-shortening state is maintained with a probability of 50%, and a shift to the non-time-shortening state is performed with a probability of 50%.
