<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus capable of reducing thermal transmission to a human body when the apparatus is used. <P>SOLUTION: Optical sensors 20 are arranged in palm rests 6 on the front upper surface 2a of the body of the electronic apparatus 1. When hands are put on the palm rests 6 in usage, a light amount to be detected by each optical sensor 20 is changed so as to determine whether the hand of the user is put on the palm rest 6 or not. When it is determined that the hands of the user are put on the palm rests 6, it is indicated to increase the number of rotation of a fan or to reduce a clock frequency in order to reduce temperature in the circumference of the palm rests 6.
