The method involves converting a most significant bit (B) of a numerical value into analog signal (V-DAC), and subtracting the signal with an analog quantity to be digitized i.e. Input voltage (V-E). The signal is amplified with a gain representing the value, and an integration phase is carried out by an integrating stage (410) in order to produce a least significant bit (M) of another numerical value proportional to the signal and to form a binary number representing least significant bits. The two values are added in a manner to form a bit number (N) representing the quantity. An independent claim is also included for a device for digitizing an analogue quantity from an electromagnetic radiation i.e. infra-red radiation detector. |
