PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast system capable of securely detecting an abnormality in an optical fiber with the suppression of cost increase as compared to before.SOLUTION: A broadcast system for transmitting a broadcast signal by light from a center device 10 to a plurality of optical terminal devices 40-1 to 40-n through a redundantly configured optical fiber includes: transmission means (a transmitter unit 11 with light on/off function) for transmitting optical signals to an optical fiber of a working system; reception means (a reflected light detector unit 13) for receiving reflected light reflected and returned to the optical fiber of the working system among the transmitted optical signals; and detection means (the transmitter unit 11 with light on/off function) for detecting the occurrence of a failure in the optical fiber of the working system on the basis of the intensity of the reflected light received by the reception means. |
