PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a small-sized and easy-to-use temperature compensated crystal oscillator excellent in productivity. SOLUTION: A mother board 15 is prepared, wherein cut-off margins B having a write control terminal 17 are arranged among a plurality of regions A each having a window 16. A package having a recessed part 1b is fitted to each region A of the mother board 15 from its major side in a manner of closing the window 16. A crystal vibrating element 5 is contained in the recessed part 1b of each package and a cover 4 seals the opening. Then an IC element 7 for controlling the oscillation output of the crystal vibrating element 5 is mounted on a lower face of the package 1 located at the inside of the window 16 from the other major side of the mother board 15. Compensation data to control the oscillation output depending on temperature are written in a memory in the IC element 7 via the write control terminal 17, the mother board 15 is cut off along the outer circumference of each region A, and each cut-off margin B is cut off from each board region A to mutually separate the respective regions A, thereby obtaining a plurality of the piezoelectric oscillators at the same time.
