<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of varying a perspective between a background image and a stereoscopic image in a stereoscopic image display system using a microlens array. <P>SOLUTION: A pseudo stereoscopic image 109 is reproduced by looking at an original image 107 composed of a two-dimensional image through the microlens array 102. In such a case, the background image is displayed on a transmission display device 103.
