PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data analyzing device and a data analyzing method that permit diagnosis of the presence of any abnormality and particulars of the abnormality regarding numerical data having frequency components without having to use information on the normal state.SOLUTION: A data analyzing device is equipped with an indexing unit 323 that calculates, regarding multiple segments constituting numerical data having at least one frequency component, indexes representing similarity between segments by using frequency spectra containing the frequency component or components of the segments; and a map preparing unit 324 that plots the segments on a map on the basis of the indexes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
