PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone oil used as an insulating solution for a liquid lens. SOLUTION: The silicone oil comprises at least one selected from compounds represented by Formulas (1) to (3). In the formulas, R1 to R6 are substituents independently selected from the group consisting of phenyl being optionally substituted by alkyl or halo, silanol having a molecular weight of 200 or less, alkyl and alkoxy. The insulating solution for the liquid lens including such silicone oil satisfies the requirements of density, refractive index, surface tension and viscosity as a liquid for the liquid lens, and the amount of organic additives is minimized.
