PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video and audio recording device in which video recording reservation desired by a user really is completed without fail. SOLUTION: When importance is set by providing an item setting whether it is important or not in video recording reservation and residual quantity of the recording medium to be video-recorded is larger than capacity required for video recording, video recording reservation set as importance is received. before the start time of the video recording reservation; residual quantity of the recording medium to be video-recorded is compared with the capacity required for the video recording reservation, when residual quantity of the recording medium to be video-recorded is larger than the capacity required for the video recording reservation; and video recording other than the video recording reservation is permitted, if the residual quantity of the recording medium to be video-recorded becomes equal to the capacity required for the video recording reservation, video recording is forcedly stopped.
