The application describes flooring structures suitable for vehicles, in which a flexible tie (4) for securing wheelchairs or the like is held on a reel (3) housed in a cavity (16) beneath a top wall (11) of the floor. In preferred constructions the flooring structure is a modular one, assembled from a set of hollow extruded aluminium planks (1). A reel (3) is contained in the internal cavity (16) of such a plank, secured to the plank (1) so that it need not be secured separately to the vehicle structure. The preferred flexible tie is a strap (4) emerging through a slit (115) in the plank top wall (11), and having a clip or buckle (5) at its free end. |
