A sealing assembly for providing an environmental seal about an elongate member includes a housing (110,120) defining a passage to receive an elongate member (20), a flowable sealant (54) disposed in the passage, a compression mechanism (140) and a trigger mechanism (150). The compression mechanism includes a biasing member. The biasing member is configured to apply a compression load against the sealant and the compression mechanism (140) is configured to force the sealant (54) to flow about the elongate member (20) to provide an environmental seal about the elongate member. The trigger mechanism (150) is configured to selectively actuate the biasing member to apply the compression load to the sealant.
