PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer of an instrument device capable of giving the user a sense of novelty, while enhancing visibility. SOLUTION: The pointer 2 to be used for a speedometer, or the like, includes a pointer body 20 etc. The pointer body 20 includes a base 21, a light-receiving surface 22 provided on the base 21, a reflecting surface 23, an indicator section 24, and a tapered part 25. The base 21 forms the center of rotation of the pointer 2 and faces an LED 12 for illuminating the pointer. The light from the LED 12 enters the base 21 from the receiving surface 22 and is reflected by the reflecting surface 23 toward the direction of the tip of the indicator section 24. The indicator section 24 is formed, stretching from the base 21 in the circumferential direction of the base 21. The tapered section 25 is provided at an edge part, on a side separated from the base 21 of the indicator section 24 and emits a light incident in the direction of the tip of the indicator section 24 to the passenger side.
