A broadcast receiving device having a storing function and its control method are provided to re-classify and display a recorded program according to a user request so that a user can easily recognize the corresponding recorded program. A storage medium hard disk(180) stores broadcast data received via a tuner(100). A user interface(150) receives a folder selection and an operation command. A controller(160) provides a folder type for classifying data stored in the storage medium hard disk according to a command inputted by a user via the user interface, and provides control to re-classify the stored data by one or more folder types. A display unit(130) displays the provided folder type and the data re-classified state according to a control signal of the controller. The folders include a folder directly created by the user, a folder according to a period, a folder according to viewing, a folder by genres, and a folder of series.
