<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent first print time after inserting a cartridge being remarkably increased by prohibiting an opening operation of a seal member when a process cartridge is already opened. <P>SOLUTION: In the process cartridge attachable/detachable to and from an image forming apparatus main body, it has a developing means for developing an electrostatic latent image formed in an image carrier, a developer container which contains developer to be supplied to the developing means, a seal member whose opening for transmitting the developer in the developer container to the developing means is openably sealed, a reel shaft to which one end of the seal member is fixed, a drive source for performing rotation drive of the reel shaft and a nonvolatile storage means for storing information about time in which the drive source is driven, time information is updated so that it approximates to a predetermined value whenever the drive source is driven for predetermined time, the image forming apparatus main body has a reading/writing means of information of the nonvolatile storage means, a determination means for determining whether or not the time information is the predetermined value and stops the drive source when the time information shows the predetermined value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
