PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable semiconductor light-emitting element which suppresses concentration of heat generation by satisfactorily controlling an in-plane current amount of the light-emitting element.SOLUTION: The semiconductor light-emitting element comprises: a substrate; a main semiconductor region including a first clad layer of a first conductivity type and a second clad layer of a second conductivity type; a pad electrode that is electrically connected with the second clad layer; and a back electrode. In the substrate, a first semiconductor region of the first conductivity type is included between the main semiconductor region and the back electrode, and a second semiconductor region of the second conductivity type is disposed adjacently to the first semiconductor region in such a manner that the first semiconductor region is held partially between the second semiconductor regions, and the substrate includes first portions that are formed larger than the pad electrode, right under the pad electrode. Around the first portions, a plurality of p+ layers are formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
