PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor for gene amplification, with which gene amplification is carried out by a small-sized apparatus at a low cost. SOLUTION: The reactor for gene amplification is equipped with a reaction region for retaining and amplifying a gene, a fluorescence detecting means for detecting fluorescence emitted at a temperature in the reaction region, a heating and cooling means for heating and cooling the reaction region based on a temperature demanded by the detected fluorescence and a fluorescent temperature probe which responds to a temperature in at least a part of the reaction region and emits fluorescence.
