<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for acquiring reading kana of a kanji name capable of creating a correspondence table without requiring a lot of time and a labor hour and shortening the retrieval time of the correspondence table. <P>SOLUTION: This device comprises a kanji name input part 3; a storage part 2 storing four tables 2(1)-2(4); an identical character reset processing part 4 setting, for an input kanji name, corresponding identical characters by use of the identical character table 2(1); a name master determination processing part 5 performing reading kana determination to the kanji name subjected to identical character setting by use of the surname master table 2(2); a temporary kana name acquisition processing part 6 acquiring, in the case that the reading kana determination cannot be performed in the processing part 5, a temporary kana name based on single kanji characters for the kanji name by use of the naming table 2(3); and a kana master determination processing part 7 performing reading kana determination to the acquired temporary kana name by use of the kana master table 2(4).
