<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filament transformer which is suitable for a diode X-ray tube. <P>SOLUTION: The transformer comprises an iron core, a primary winding wire, a secondary winding wire which are wound around the iron core, and a shield which shields the primary winding wire, wherein high voltage bias is applied to the secondary winding wire and the primary winding wire is aligned with the secondary winding wire. The transformer comprises a frame 250 for incorporating the primary winding wire and the secondary winding wire. A configuration increasing a creeping distance is incorporated into the frame by forming a plurality of compartments in the frame.
