PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lipase inhibitor having a high lipid absorption-inhibiting effect and useful as an antiobestic medicine or hyperlipidemia inhibitor by compounding a benzophenone derivative. SOLUTION: This lipase inhibitor contains a benzophenone derivative, preferably a polyisoprenylated benzophenone derivative contained in the organic solvent extract of the body of a Garcinia plant or garcinol, preferably in an amount of 0.0001-5% (w/w). The benzophenone derivative has a strong lipase- inhibiting activity, is contained in plants, etc., in large amounts, can easily be extracted, processed or converted into derivatives, and is highly safe. The lipase inhibitor is preferably administered at a daily dose of about 10-2,000 mg for an adult as the polyisoprenylated benzophenone derivative. |
