<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing both color shift and color omission during primary transfer. <P>SOLUTION: Color shift is prevented by increasing primary transfer pressure contact force when carrying out primary transfer in K on the first sheet and primary transfer in Y and K on the second sheet and thereafter.
