PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when a suspicious object is created in the color of an installation site, or it is fitted into a recess, the suspicious object may not be detected only by simply comparing images based on their colors, or an observer or a maintenance staff who checks the images cannot determine the object as suspicious. SOLUTION: A suspicious object is detected by applying an infrared pattern to a front panel of an ATM to be monitored by an infrared pattern projecting device from one side, acquiring an image by photographing the front panel with an infrared monitoring camera from the other side, and measuring the difference between this image and a reference image (an image taken beforehand when a suspicious object is not placed).
