摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device including a light-diffusing member that prevents reduction in contrast and blurring of an image by external light and has high flexibility in lamination with other optical members.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a surface light source device and a liquid crystal panel disposed on an observer side of the surface light source device. The liquid crystal panel includes a liquid crystal layer, a lower polarizing plate disposed on the surface light source device side of the liquid crystal layer, and an upper polarizing plate disposed on the observer side of the liquid crystal layer. The upper polarizing plate includes a light-diffusing member and a polarizer laminated on the light-diffusing member. The light diffusing member has a first layer laminated while having light-transmitting property and a second layer disposed on the observer side of the first layer and having a refractive index lower than that of the first layer, and includes a diffraction structure comprising a rugged pattern formed on an interface between the first layer and the second layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
