This load drive circuit is provided with: a detection circuit that periodically detects an inrush current flowing from a first terminal to a capacitor via a first switch element, and outputs, from a first node, a detection signal corresponding to the detection result; a peak-hold circuit that holds a peak voltage of the detection signal and outputs this held peak voltage as a detection voltage; a comparison circuit that compares the detection voltage and a threshold voltage and outputs a comparison result signal corresponding to the comparison result; a control circuit that controls a current detection operation of the detection circuit and outputs a load control signal for controlling operation of a load; and a logical circuit that controls a load switch element on the basis of the comparison result signal and the load control signal. |
