PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify an inserted card by using an IC contact detection sensor while preventing unauthorized reading of magnetic information on the magnetic card.SOLUTION: A card insertion/ejection port unit comprises: an opening for inserting and ejecting a card; a magnetic field generation unit for generating a disturbance magnetic field; an IC contact detection sensor for detecting the presence or absence of an IC contact; and a control unit for controlling the operation of the magnetic field generation unit and the IC contact detection sensor. If a card is inserted from the opening in a card insertion waiting state, the control unit controls timing when the disturbance magnetic field is generated by the disturbance magnetic field generation unit and timing when the presence or absence of an IC contact is detected by the IC contact detection sensor, and thereby the card insertion/ejection port unit achieves the functions of disturbance and detection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
