PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect whether an occupant is seated or not with high sensitivity in a vehicle seat device equipped with a seat heater. SOLUTION: For a detection period of seating of an occupant by an occupant detection electrode 9, seat heater opening switches 11, 12 are turned off to make the seat heater 8 in the floating potential state. At this time, the seat heater 8 may be used as an electrode for seating detection. Thus, also in the vehicle seat device with the seat heater, occupant seating detection sensitivity at the same level as that of a vehicle seat device without a seat heater can be achieved.
