An electric current sensor 2 measures electric currents flowing through two bus bars 3 and 13 which are aligned side by side in the X-direction and extend parallel to one another in the Y-direction. A sensor element 4 is disposed on a straight line passing through the bus bar 3, in the Z-direction, in such a way that a magneto-sensitive direction of the sensor element 4 is oriented in the X-direction. The bus bar 3 and the sensor element 4 are sandwiched in the Z-direction between a pair of shielding plates 5 and 6. The bus bar 3 is located between the sensor element 4 and the lower shielding plate 5. The sensor element 4 is located closer to the upper shielding plate than to the lower shielding plate 5. The thickness and/or the magnetic permeability of the magnetic shielding plates is larger in the case of the upper shielding plate 6 than in the case of the lower shielding plate 5. |
