PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wave winding for a rotary electric machine with which the rotary electric machine can be downsized and cost can be reduced by making an eddy-state helical winding sheet-like coil compact when the helical winding sheet-like coil is mounted in an eddy state around a stator core.SOLUTION: A wave winding for a rotary electric machine is formed by winding a helical winding sheet-like coil (3) in an eddy state around a stator core (7). A portion which is a sheet end portion of the helical winding sheet-like coil (3) in a moving direction of a movable element magnetic pole and in which winding of a coil conductor is started, is defined as a coil conductor winding starting part (3S). A winding direction of the coil conductor away from the coil conductor winding starting part (3S) in a side view of the coil conductor winding starting part (3S) in the moving direction of the movable element magnetic pole is defined as a helical winding direction. An eddy direction in the case where a coil conductor terminal (5T) is defined as a start point in the helical winding sheet-like coil (3) wound in the eddy state in an axial view of the rotary electric machine from a side of the coil conductor terminal (5T), is defined as an annular winding direction. In such a case, the helical winding direction and the annular winding direction are matched. |
