PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain vibration suppression effects over a wide frequency range in an overhead wire damper.SOLUTION: The overhead wire damper comprises: a clamp 1 which is fixed to an overhead wire 11; two weights 2 and 3; and one suppression line 4 connecting one weight 2 and the clamp 1 and another suppression line 4 connecting the other weight 3 and the clamp 1. Each of the weights 2 and 3 is formed from a rod body, a cylindrical body or a combination of a rod body and a cylindrical body. When a length of the one suppression line 4 between the clamp 1 and the one weight 2 is defined as L1, a length of the other suppression line 5 between the clamp 1 and the other weight 3 is defined as L2, a mass of the one weight 2 is defined as M1 and a mass of the other weight 3 is defined as M2, M1<M2 and L1<L2 are satisfied. Further, a ratio M1:M2 of the masses of the two weights 2 and 3 ranges from 1:1.15 to 1.25 and a ratio L1:L2 of the lengths of the one and other suppression lines 4 and 5 ranges from 1:1.15 to 1.25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
