Provided is a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor, and a method for manufacturing same, in which solder burst is unlikely to occur, adhesion strength is high at the interface between an external electrode and a ceramic body, and variation in the resistance value when exposed to temperature variation is low. An NTC thermistor, including: a ceramic body; a first internal electrode and second internal electrode provided inside the ceramic body; a first external electrode provided on one end surface of the ceramic body, the first external electrode being electrically connected to the first internal electrode; and a second external electrode provided on the other end surface of the ceramic body, the second external electrode being electrically connected to the second internal electrode, wherein the ceramic body includes Mn 3O4, the first and second internal electrodes include a noble metal element, the first and second external electrodes include Cu, and the diffusion distance of the Cu included in the first and second external electrodes into the first and second internal electrodes is 2-20 μm. |
