PURPOSE:To carry out precise off-set correction by computing the off-set value while shortening a cycle of sampling angular velocity data when a stop determining means stops a moving body. CONSTITUTION:A locator apparatus has a spiral angular verocity sensor 11, a sampling means 12, and a stop determining means 13 which determines the stop of a moving body. With this composition, since the angular velocity data is obtained within a shortened cycle during an automobile stopping period, a large quantity of data for obtaining precise off-set value can be obtained even if the stopping period is short. That is, since the noise components the obtained off-set value has become sigmao/root ft, the noise components can be lessened by increasing the sampling frequency (f) even if the time (t) is short. Then, the off-set value is computed based on the data during the stopping period and off-set correction can be carried out, so that direction data can be precisely corrected independently of the length of the automobile stopping time. |
