PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jaw structure of a universal spanner. SOLUTION: Opening stepped recessed parts are respectively formed on an opposed end surface of a fixed jaw and a movable jaw, an abutting surface connected to the one end of an obliquely extending slide way is provided on a bottom end part of the fixed jaw, at least one pressed wall and the recessed part are respectively formed on the inner side of the both opening stepped recessed parts, and an extension line of the opening stepped recessed part of the fixed jaw and the axis center line of a slide axis form a contained angle of 65°-85°. Optional adjacent both side surfaces of a nut having different sizes within a predetermined range abut to the opening stepped recessed part and the abutting surface of the fixed jaw respectively, and the pressed wall positioned at the inner side of the movable jaw sliding in the lateral direction abuts to almost central position of side surface of the nut having the different size. When the nut is sandwiched and rotated, the corner part of the nut is held in a state not contacting to the both opening stepped recessed part, and in the universal spanner, the effect for preventing the corner part of the nut from being worn in a circular arc shape is obtained thereby.
