PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate resin having wavelength dispersion property near an ideal wide band, high in phase contrast development property, low in photoelasticity and excellent in melt processing property, and an optical film consisting of the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a polycarbonate resin containing a structural unit (A) represented by the formula (A) and a carbonate unit (B) derived from an aliphatic diol compound and/or an alicyclic diol compound with molar ratio (A/B) of the unit (A) and the unit (B) of 5/95 to 95/5.
