PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant supply structure of an internal combustion engine capable of performing lubrication of a cam preferably while decreasing drop of an oil pressure of an oil pump.SOLUTION: A lubricant supply structure 1 of an internal combustion engine supplies a lubricant 100 circulating in a cylindrical cam shaft 2 which includes cams of different phases to a cam 20 via a cam journal 22 and a cam cap 3 (bearing part). In the cam journal 22, an oil drain port 28 is provided for draining the lubricant 100 from an oil passage in the cam shaft 2. A bearing surface 30 of the cam cap 3 includes: an oil sump groove 32 for storing the lubricant 100 drained from the oil drain port 28; and an oil supply port 38 for draining the lubricant 100 from the oil sump groove 32 and supplying it to the cam 20. The oil sump groove 32 is provided at one part in the circumferential direction of the bearing surface 30 so that oil supply periods for cams of different phases do not overlap with each other. The oil supply port 38 is provided so that the lubricant 100 is supplied to a cam nose before the cam nose 200 comes into contact with a pressing object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
