PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seawater filter apparatus for salt manufacture, which prevents filtering layers from being clogged, enables a significant reduction in backwash frequency, and can prevent a filtering medium from leaking out of a filtering room upon backwash. SOLUTION: The seawater filter apparatus for salt manufacture is provided in which the filtering medium of the lower layer of the filtering layers consisting of the upper and the lower layers is made of filtration sand, the upper and the lower layers satisfy the following conditions (1) to (5), and the height of the filtering room ranges from 1.8 to 1.9 m, wherein (1) 0.00026≤D1≤0.00055, (2) 1.5≤ρs≤1.8, (3) D1<D2, (4) f(D1,ρ1)<f(D2,ρs), (5) f(D2,ρs)L2<H-f(D1,ρ1)L1, (D1: effective diameter (m) of filteration sand), D2: effective diameter (m) of the filtering medium of the upper layer, f(D,ρ): effective diameter D, development rate of the filtering medium with specific gravityρ, H: height of the filtering room,ρ1: specific gravity of filteration sand,ρs: specific gravity of the filtering medium of the upper layer, L1: loading height (m) of the filtering medium of the lower layer, and L2: loading height (m) of the filtering medium of the upper layer.
