PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skeletal plating system for aligning and maintaining bone portions of the same bone or of different bones in a selected spatial relationship for healing or fusion of the bone portions. SOLUTION: The skeletal plating system comprises a plate 2 having a length sufficient for bridging at least two bone portions, and the plate 2 has an upper surface and a lower surface to be positioned to the bone portions. The lower surface is practically flat along the longitudinal direction of the plate and is curved along the transverse direction of the plate. The plate 2 has a plurality of bone screw receiving holes 6, 8 and 408 passing through the plate from the upper surface to the lower surface, at least the first of the plurality of bone screw receiving holes 6, 8 and 408 is related to the first bone portion, and at least the second of the plurality of bone screw receiving holes is related to the second bone portion. Also, single locking members 20, 21 and 300 for locking one bone screw which can be inserted to at least one of the plurality of bone screw receiving holes to the plate by covering at least a part of the bone screw receiving holes 6, 8 and 408 are included.
