The present invention relates to a mobile communication repeater and a method for controlling the same and, more particularly, to a mobile communication repeater for saving power and a method for controlling the power thereof. A mobile communication repeater according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a power amplification unit which generates and outputs an output signal which amplifies a downstream signal by using power supplied; a power source unit which supplies power; and a control unit which determines a current state by comparing output signal information with respect to an output signal to preset downstream reference information, and, if the current state is determined to be active as a result of the determination, controls the voltage of the power so as to correspond to the output signal information. The present invention can prevent unnecessary power consumption because it is possible to control power for amplifying a signal according to the amount of signals received. |
