PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of a plasma display panel capable of preventing wrong discharge in an addressing period. SOLUTION: One field is composed of a plurality of sub-fields in the display panel including a plurality of row electrode pairs and a plurality of column electrode pairs arranged by crossing the row electrode pairs, and grayscale display is performed by providing a reset period preceding to an address period of a head sub-field in a display period of one field, in the driving method of the plasma display panel. The method comprises: a first process for applying a first reset pulse of a first polarity in which an amplitude voltage value becomes large as time passes, on a first row electrode, in a first half of the reset period; and a second process for applying a second reset pulse of a reverse polarity of the first reset pulse in which the amplitude voltage value becomes gradually large to a reverse polarity side as time passes in a first period, and becomes abruptly large and reaches a predetermined voltage value in a second period following the first period, on the first row electrode, in a second half of the reset pulse.
