An eyewear apparatus is provided that includes a lens structure having a lens panel, and a battery structure on the lens panel. The battery structure may include an anode, a separator and a cathode, and may also include a solar panel. The anode may be provided on the lens panel, the separator may be provided on the anode, the cathode may be provided on the separator, and the solar panel may be provided on the cathode. The battery structure may be used with the eyewear apparatus to store energy for electronic components associated with the eyewear apparatus. The electronic components may receive power from the battery structure. The solar panel may be provided on the battery structure. The solar panel may receive energy from sunlight or other light and provide energy to the battery structure. |
